# Plans

DataJet offers four subscription tiers. All charges are billed in USD through Shopify every 30 days, and every plan starts with a 14-day free trial.

## Trial

During the 14-day free trial you get **10,000 credits** to test your tasks, 5 MB of storage, and 1 active function.

## Credits

Credits are consumed by the operations your tasks perform — see [Credits and Usage](/misc/credits-and-usage.md) for the cost of each operation. Your credit quota renews at the beginning of each billing period.

* An automatic e-mail notification is sent when usage reaches 80% of your available credits.
* If you run out of credits before the end of the billing period, tasks stop running and log *"You don't have enough credits to continue"* until the quota renews or you upgrade.
* On the DataJet Plan credits are unlimited, so tasks are never interrupted by usage.

## Functions

[Functions](/functions/functions.md) don't consume credits — they run on Shopify's infrastructure. Each plan instead limits how many functions can be **active** at the same time (you can create and edit any number). Development and sandbox stores get the full limit of 25 regardless of plan.

## Changing plans

You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from the plans screen in the app; Shopify prorates the charge. Upgrading takes effect immediately, including the new credit quota.
